About the Founder/Managing Director


The Founder and Managing Director of Resman Associates Ltd., Dr. Oriye Agofe, combines an academic background in business administration with years of practical line management experience in industry.  He graduated as Sonny Simon Agodo with B.Sc (Hon) (Second Class Upper Division) in Business Administration at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria (1970) and an M.B.A in Business Policy at New York University, New York City (1972).  The name changed to Oriye Agodo in 1973, after he entered Northwestern University, Evanston, U.S.A, where he studied for and obtained the Ph.D. degree in Business Policy & Environment in 1976.  He taught Business Administration and Economics courses at Olive Harvey College, Roosevelt University and Chicago State University in Chicago between 1974 and 1976.

Dr. Agofe returned to Nigeria in August 1976 and worked with Mandilas Group Ltd. as Planning & Training Manager (1976-1981) the company where he had a 10-month stint as Management Trainee (1970/71) before proceeding to the United States for graduate studies.  He worked in line management in several divisions and subsidiaries of Manadilas Group, rising to the position of General Manager in 1983.  In 1988 he voluntarily retired as General Manager of Mandilas Ventures Limited to establish Resman Associates Ltd.

Oriye Agodo ultimately became Oriye Agofe in December 1998 and as Managing Director of Resman Associates Ltd., Dr. Agofe has supervised and coordinated a wide variety of management and economic consultancy projects ranging from economic, industrial and management studies to corporate re-organization, strategic repositioning, and human capital development programmes.  He has participated in professional economic and management conferences in which he presented academic papers, served as discussant of presented papers and was involved with others in preparing conference reports.  Dr. Agofe belongs to several professional associations including The Nigerian Economic Society, Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Institute for Training & Development, and Academy of International Business Studies.
